Lots of us are spending more time at home than we’ve perhaps ever done before. Being in the same environment all the time can start to affect your health, especially if you’re unhappy about your surroundings. Whilst we might not have the get up and go to organise our rooms, keeping everything clean and tidy will help you stay focused and even sleep better. Let’s look at some ways you can create harmony in your bedroom.
Clean Your Bedroom

Our bedrooms are often the place we keep the least tidy. Even when we could have people round, they’d rarely come to our bedrooms and if they did the lights would usually be off! We’d rather focus on the kitchen and living spaces than the upstairs. Keeping things clean helps improve your home hygiene.
You might consider investing in a new mattress in order to boost your chances of getting better sleep. Though we frequently change our bedding, mattresses can contain a lot of dust mites, dirt and dead skin cell flakes. Thankfully, all TEMPUR mattresses have easy zip-off covers that are machine washable, which makes cleaning them so much easier.
Get the vacuum cleaner out and make sure you clean every corner of the room. Pull out the bed, you might be surprised at just how much stuff works its way under there. Dust the units, clean the glass on the windows, wipe the skirting boards. Make sure you change your sheets once a week and use a mattress cover too. Cleanliness is underrated and considering we spend maybe 10 hours of our day sleeping, the environment we snooze in should be good for us.
Tidy Your Bedroom

How many of the trinkets on the windowsill do you actually use? Be sure to make your bed every morning. This helps you enter a serene environment when you walk into the room and actually enjoy getting into bed on an evening. Nobody likes a pillow that hasn’t been plumped! Tidying your bedroom might even mean removing the TV from on top of the drawer unit. Having tranquility can often mean getting rid of distractions, maybe even banning your phone from the room! Technology can certainly affect the way we relax. Keeping things clean and simple in your bedroom with ensure you have a calm and stress free sleeping environment.
Organise Your Bedroom

Getting rid of clutter will ensure you have somewhere to relax properly. If you love sitting on the bed with a laptop or relaxing into the covers with a good book, our bedrooms are important. Having organisational systems in place so you know where everything is makes life flow better. It also means you can perhaps have an extra few minutes in bed every morning because you know what you need and where you can find it.
A Real Sanctuary

There’s nothing quite like a great quality night’s sleep as it helps improve emotional wellness and physical health, so when you create a sanctuary of a bedroom to aid your rest, you’ll feel the benefits across your life. You’ll have more energy during the day, enjoy spending time in the space you’ve created and be able to relax your body and mind better than before.
Add a relaxing colour to your walls like spiced mulberry and a fragrant candle and you’ve got the makings of the perfect hideaway.
