Dr. PawPaw Press Day For ‘It Does It All’

Dr. PawPaw Press Day For ‘It Does It All’

I was lucky to have been invited to the Dr.PawPaw Press day last Thursday; a small event held in Aer Blowdry Bar in South Kensington to showcase their new hair treatment that has just launched. They had invited bloggers and the press to have some drinks & nibbles, learn about the new product and have their hair done using it.

The event was slightly different to what I was expecting as it was more personal than social; we had all been given an individual time slot to attend and so we didn’t get to meet anybody else. It was an opportunity to get to know the products better and I met the lovely Pauline again, the founder of Dr.PawPaw, who I’d met before at Olympia Beauty. She sat with me for an hour, talking through the new launch, while I received a complimentary blowdry.

The new hair treatment is aptly named ‘It Does It All’ because, in true Dr.PawPaw fashion, it’s a multi-purpose product. This 7-in-1 hair treatment styler that can be used on both dry and damp hair. It provides heat protection, reduces split ends, detangles, reduces frizz, adds shine, can be used as a leave-in hair treatment and is a blow dry styling aid.

The formula contains strengthening, thickening and all round beneficial ingredients, just like their balms and the scent, which is a custom blend of mango and coconut, is incredible! It was very interesting to hear about how they created this signature scent because papaya doesn’t actually have a fragrance, and they achieved this by adding a twist of orange to the mix.

I love the way my hair was styled and I left with a gorgeous big, bouncy, blowdry. Unfortunately, within about 3 minutes of me walking out of there, the heavens opened up – typical! By the time I fumbled around in my bag for an umbrella while looking for shelter, it was too late; the curls had started to drop out of one side and the frizz emerged. *inserts crying emoji*

Therefore, I can only present you with some terrible quality iPhone selfies that I took in the salon before I left.

Note to self: Check that your clothes don’t match your hair colour before leaving the house.

If you follow me on Snapchat, you will have seen my panic at having been told to come in with freshly washed hair with NO PRODUCT in it! My hair is so unruly that I have to use a variety of products to tame it on a daily basis – I’m sure most curly-haired girls out there can relate. To say I was apprehensive would be a huge understatement and I decided the night before to straighten my hair in an attempt to tone it down somewhat.

I was given a goodie bag which included the new hair treatment, and I can’t wait to use it! I love that it has so many benefits and cuts down on the number of products I will need to use, making it really travel friendly. The sturdy packaging means that it’s great for popping into your handbag for touch ups throughout the day.

I have yet to style my own hair with this treatment, but I can already see that it does tick a few boxes for me. Having put so many products to the test throughout the years, I will admit that I am slightly skeptical on it’s ability to reduce my frizz. However, I can confirm that it leaves my hair feeling soft and smooth with a beautiful glossy shine. The formula is a thick cream but sprays out as a really fine mist, leaving no product build-up. This is great because it means that you can use this as often as you want in between washing your hair and it doesn’t leave any residue.

It feels really luxurious and nourishing to the touch and is a great leave-in conditioner. My hair needs all the goodness it can get, and so for that reason, I will continue to use this and enjoy it’s benefits.

You can buy the treatment for £12.99 on Dr.PawPaw’s website and it’s currently stocked in-store at Harvey Nichols. It should also be available in Superdrug by the end of the month.

Have you tried any of the Dr.PawPaw range? What’s your favourite product?
