I’m sure we’re all familiar with the horrendous panda eyes that appear the morning after, after having thought you’d removed all traces of mascara. FYI – this happens to me all the time, so I jumped at the opportunity to trial the Removeil cleansing cloth ahead of their UK launch – anything to make my evening skincare routine easier.
This is a high-tech cloth that uses the natural power of silver and the cleansing power of microfibre to effortlessly brighten the skin without using any other product.
One side is made of micro-fibre, which is designed to remove makeup using just warm water and the other is made with 99.9% pure silver fibre to exfoliate the skin. This is where it gets technical, but stick with me..
The silver fibres keep generating positively charged ions which are attracted to negatively charged bacteria. These positive ions enter the bacteria’s cell membrane to prevent their reproduction – hence exfoliating the skin and stimulating regeneration. Of course, I can’t tell you that I’ve witnessed this physically working, but I do enjoy using this side to quickly brighten up my skin after cleansing, and it really works.
This ‘cloth’ is eco-friendly, reusable and can be put in the washing machine at 40 degrees up to 250 times. It needs to be moistened with warm water before use and I rinse mine out under the tap between washing it in the machine every five days or so.
In all honesty, I don’t think that the makeup remover side is that effective; I’ve gone back over my skin with some micellar water on a cotton pad, and found some traces of makeup. I also don’t feel as though I have cleansed my skin properly if I am just using warm water and a cloth, however, the exfoliation side is brilliant.
On days when I put off my evening skincare till the very last minute and all I want to do is quickly take my makeup off and get into bed, the exfoliator cloth is really handy to effortlessly brighten up my complexion. The silver fibres have natural antibacterial properties too, which means it is perfect to use when my skin is on the verge of a breakout.
Priced at £24.99, the Removeil Cleansing Cloth is available here.
