You may have noticed that your mascara dries out really quickly, while seemingly, there’s still a lot of product left in the tube. I’ve experienced that particularly with drugstore mascaras, which is one of the reasons for the big price difference between these and the high end ones.
To prevent mascara from drying out in the first place, try not to not push the wand in and out of the bottle repeatedly. This traps the air inside the tube and then dries the mascara out faster than it normally would.
If your mascara is already starting to dry out, and become clumpy, use some eyedrops to loosen it up and turn it back into a liquid again. Squeeze a few drops into the tube, screw the top back on and shake the mascara! Ensure that the tip of the eyedrops bottle doesn’t touch the mascara tube, as this can irritate your eyes when you need to use the eye drops later.
Having said this, mascara has the shortest life span of all make up because the risk of transferring bacteria back and forth from your eye into the mascara tube is so great. If your mascara starts to dry out and you’ve had it for six months, throw it away!
This is a really effective way to prolong the short life of your mascara!
Let me know how you get on..
