MY HAND LUGGAGE TRAVEL ESSENTIALS #AD

MY HAND LUGGAGE TRAVEL ESSENTIALS #AD

No matter where in the world I travel to, my packing routine is nearly always the same and I ensure that I have all the essentials in my hand luggage/carry on without taking too much on the flight with me.

It may be the blogger in me, but I always pack a small notebook and pen – you’d be surprised when inspiration for a blog post or video hits. It always happens to me at random times (often when I’m in the shower) and there’s nothing worse than forgetting to write it down or losing it in the ‘notes’ section of my iPhone. I also write down a list of places I want to visit and things I want to do on the trip before I leave.

My sunglasses are always in my hand luggage to prevent any loss/damage in my suitcase, together with all my beauty essentials in my Sephora Beauty On The Fly clear liquids bag. This bag contains my disposable contact lenses, face wipes, Dr Paw Paw multipurpose balm, moisturiser, eye cream, toothbrush, mini toothpaste and my PTR Cucumber Gel Mask for long haul flights.

As a coffee addict who is mildly lactose intolerant, I also pack a handful of these long life soya milk pots into my liquids bag, just so that I can get my caffeine fix on a flight! They are a lifesaver.

Whether you’re taking a 1 hour domestic flight or a 13 hour transatlantic flight, entertainment is key. It can make or break the experience for nervous flyers and I always make sure to pack a good pair of headphones. These aGem In-Ear Headphones are not only aesthetically pleasing, the monochrome cord is durable and the sound quality is excellent. They also double up as a handsfree kit which is always a bonus!

I always carry a book in case I fancy reading, magazine(s) and my laptop. Some people like to download their favourite shows, movies or podcasts before they travel which is always useful in case you don’t like any of the options available on the flight. As I don’t really watch a lot of TV or movies, I’m quite easy to please with the in-flight entertainment. I would, however, love to figure out a way of streaming youtube videos offline! If you know how to do this, please let me know in the comments – I will love you forever!

As most planes have USB sockets these days, I also pack my phone charger and a power bank in my hand luggage. These are so handy in case there are flight delays and you need to make a phone call or simply because you may have drained your battery after listening to music on your phone during the flight.

Organisation freaks rejoice! This Ted Baker Brogue Lifestyle Organiser is perfect for storing all your important documents for travel; passports, boarding passes, phone, credit cards, a pen, headphones and even a pair of glasses.

Made of faux leather, the sleek black case with rose gold detailing is elegant, minimalistic and so lightweight that you don’t have to worry about adding an extra kilogram on to your luggage allowance. For those who love a bit of colour, Amara also sell the Thistle organiser which has a pretty pink floral design, and I love that these are big enough to use as an oversized clutch around the airport but not so small that you may lose them in your handbag.

It’s the perfect gift for that for the man or woman in your life that spends a lot of time on planes, trains and automobiles.

Finally, I pack a small tote bag containing a clean pair of knickers, sanitary towels/tampons, a pair of socks and a set of swimwear (if I’m travelling to a hot country), just in case my luggage doesn’t arrive at my destination at the same time as me!

Do you have any hand luggage essentials that didn’t make this list?
