Peter Thomas Roth; a luxury skincare brand, best known for their cult (and award-winning) face masks launched in Selfridges’ beauty hall last month.
This is fantastic news, as previously they were only available online at Sephora, Cult Beauty, Look Fantastic and Beauty Bay – I’m sure you know how bad I am at choosing the right products online, so I much prefer to physically see the items first unless it’s a repurchase.
I am a huge fan of PTR; in fact, the Pumpkin Enzyme mask was one of my best beauty discoveries of 2016. From the first application, it immediately became my go-to mask to combat dull skin and give me a beautiful radiant glow. This triple action mask seriously is beauty dynamite and you can read all about why I love it so much here.
The Cucumber Gel mask is an extremely gentle, refreshing mask that soothes, hydrates and detoxifies the skin. It can also be used on the under-eye area to help reduce the look of puffiness, due to it’s calming properties; I like to pop it in the fridge for a few minutes before I apply it under my eyes and my skin feels amazing afterwards. It works wonders as an overnight intensive treatment and it is a lovely boost of hydration when used after the Pumpkin Enzyme mask. I was extremely pleased to see that it doesn’t smell of cucumber as the name might suggest, it has a lovely fresh, neutral scent.
The Rose Stem Cell mask is also another gel mask with a subtle rose scent. It aims to help stimulate cell turnover for younger looking skin by reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, rehydrating skin and brightening skin tone. Again, this mask can be used as an overnight treatment, and I prefer using it this way as it’s soothing and cooling on the skin. While I wake up with toned, smooth and hydrated skin that feels slightly lifted, I feel as though this one needs to be used regularly over a longer period of time to see the anti-ageing benefits.
These masks all make such a difference to my skin and a little goes a long way and so I imagine these tubs will last quite a while.
The FirmX Peeling Gel is a peeling gel that visibly removes impurities, decongests clogged pores and sweeps away dead skin cells when massaged onto skin; resulting in a youthful, radiant look. The multi action enzymes help uncover a smooth, fresh complexion without drying, irritating or causing undue stress to skin.
Essentially, this is an incredible exfoliator! For me, this was love at first use as it left me with incredibly soft, silky skin that was noticeably brighter. As with the Pumpkin Enzyme mask, I love that the results are so instant – they are brilliant!
It’s worth noting that peeling gels aren’t chemical exfoliants; they’re gentle physical exfoliants (scrubs), and the flakey bits aren’t skin. They are fibres in the product that react with the oils in your skin to draw out any impurities and dead skin.
The Anti-Ageing Cleansing Gel turns into a rich, foamy lather when massaged on to damp skin. It has a light fresh sent that I adore and it leaves my face feeling clean without any residue. I have oily/combination skin, with the occasional breakout and this gentle cleanser seems to keep everything under control nicely.
As this contains an AHA (alpha hydroxy acid), I wouldn’t use it in the Summer or on particularly sunny days as AHAs can increase your skin’s sensitivity to the sun and potentially cause sunburn – So I would recommend using a facial SPF with this cleanser.
