Gosh, hasn’t this been one hot July?!
I must admit, I am not loving this heatwave. My ideal temperature sits somewhere between 15 and 20 degrees, so you can imagine that I am an uncomfortably warm, sweaty mess right now. – In case you don’t live in the UK, it’s currently 33 degrees in London and extremely humid.
One thing I have been loving however, is getting away from my usual all-black attire; my leggings in particular that are part of my every day uniform. I honestly can’t remember the last time I pulled them out of my drawer, it must have been at least 7/8 weeks ago!
I love wearing dresses in the summer, and this year has been no exception..
This gorgeous royal blue swing dress instantly became my new favourite dress, and not just because it’s my favourite shade of blue. Everything about it is absolute perfection; the sweetheart neckline which is low cut enough but not obscene, the length and the super flattering empire line cut which is great for an apple shape like myself – It gives the illusion that I have a waist, but let me tell you, I sadly don’t. *inserts crying emoji*
It comes with a bolero, which is perfect for chillier days, or those wanting to cover their arms. Personally, I’m not a fan of wearing it this way but it is nice to have the option if I ever wanted to wear it with the dress.
You can use the discount code ‘NISHIV10’ to get 10% off this dress and everything else on CurveWow.
While this dress is slightly longer in length than I’d normally wear, there is something about the gorgeous teal shade and floral print that I absolutely adore. I find that wrap dresses are the most flattering on my shape and this dress certainly doesn’t disappoint! The material is very good quality, and probably slightly too thick for this warm weather, but it’d be perfect for a summer wedding or special occasion. The material does have some stretch to it, so if you’re in between sizes, I’d recommend going down a size!
Speaking of wrap dresses, I couldn’t not mention this polka dot number that was all over my Instagram feed at one time. The length and fit are perfect, I love the bold, eye catching polka dots but I have to say that it doesn’t wash that well. After 5 or 6 washes, I can see that the black is starting to fade slightly which is disappointing.
I bought my first jumpsuit this year – in fact, I loved it so much that I bought the same style in red too! The fabric is so lightweight that it’s absolutely perfect for this time of year – even the black one! As much as I’m trying to stay away from black until Autumn/Winter, I can’t help but wear these all the time at the moment and I’m sure people think I wear the same clothes every day. I promise I wash them in between as they almost dry instantly.
The best bit is that these jumpsuits come in an array of colours and patterns; blue and green being the two I have my eye on next. They’re also available in the Petite, Tall, Curve and Maternity sections on Asos which means that they’re available in UK sizes 4-28 – incredible!
I’ve linked them all HERE if you fancy a peek.
My caption for this was going to be ‘when it’s this muggy and humid outside, nobody needs to see my sweaty face’ but can we just take a moment to appreciate the weather today please!?? There’s an actual breeze, it’s not unbearably hot and that’s put a big smile on my face! Shame you can’t see it though 😂- – – 👚 @asos 👖 @lovedrobe 👜 @topshop, obvs! – – 📸 by @jassv__ #NishiV #MyLovedrobe #AsSeenOnMe #BritishSummertime
I don’t often wear trousers in the summer, but let’s be honest, they’re great for those days when you can’t be bothered to shave your legs – amirite!? These black and white stripey crepe trousers are so comfy and look great with a plain white tee and sliders or converse for a casual look
I’m sure every blogger and their *insert relative here* seem to own a straw circle bag, and I’m no exception.. Of course, I had to be a complete cliché and get that Topshop one.
Sadly this has been sold out online for quite a while now, but I’ve been told it randomly pops up in store every now and again.
I’ve linked below some alternatives for you though.
