When two bloggers have the opportunity to go shopping for each other, not only are we in our element, we get more excited than usual. Just me?
I mean, personally I don’t have any friends that understand my love of trying new beauty products or *needing* the latest marble, gold or rose gold accessory, (even if it’s a simple placemat – true story) ..
So this is where blogger-friends come in handy and when Parie from Class and Glitter asked me if I would like to do a not-so-secret Santa with her, of course I said yes! We set ourselves a generous budget of £50, which typically, we both went a little over and a time frame of around three weeks to shop and send off our parcels.
I received two huge boxes from Parie, which I’m pretty sure I spent about an hour opening everything up on Snapchat! I was completely blown away by her gifts, especially considering we haven’t met in person (yet) – I’m amazed at how well she knows me!
As you can see, it was a bit of a struggle fitting everything she bought me into one photo and she also bought Jass an aftershave and some chocolates which was incredibly sweet and thoughtful of her.
In all my excitement, I didn’t manage to take photos of the beautifully packaged gifts before I opened them, but I did save some of the cute little notes she had attached to them..
Clearly she knows that coffee is my drug of choice, and I may or may not have done a little mini fist pump when I saw this beautiful mug. Funnily enough, I had planned to buy Parie the exact same mug but the letter P was sold out in my local Matalan store and online. *inserts sad face emoji*
I’m sure it would have been hilarious if we’d both sent the same thing to each other, but this just goes to show that great minds think alike!
I think that Instagram-stalking Parie has payed off as as I’ve commented on these pretty candles a few times now. She bought me this huge winter scented one which smells lovely.. I mean, I could smell this before I’d even finished unwrapping it – it’s so heavy, it must have cost her a fortune to send!
The Makeup Revolution Luxury Banana Powder is something I also first spotted on Parie’s Instagram a few weeks ago. I’m so glad there is now a budget version of Ben Nye’s offering available as I’ve had the original one on my wishlist for so long. I haven’t got round to purchasing it yet so I can’t wait to try this one out!
Since purchasing the Zoeva Cocoa Blend palette, I’ve wanted to try more from the brand as the shadows are insanely good for the price, so I was extremely pleased to unwrap the Rose Golden Blush Palette! Although it looks more like a contour palette to me, I’m very happy with this new addition to my collection.
If you’ve ever watched my videos, you may have seen that I practically bathe in MAC Fix+! I just cant get enough of it; I even wrote this post on 10 ways of using it, but my current favourite is to use it as a finishing spray. Clearly somebody has been stalking me too..
I’m pretty sure all bloggers can relate to this photo. Right!?
Stationery and blog props are my weakness; a marble placemat is a non optional photography background, and this ‘gorgeous’ Kate Spade-esque monochrome notebook and gold polka dot diary are also must-have accessories.
Last but certainly not least, this is the parcel that resulted in a lot of high pitched squealing (apologies to my Snapchat followers).
Seriously.. Who doesn’t need another make-up brush holder!? This rose gold pen pot also makes the perfect blog photography prop, so if it starts creeping into my Instagram posts, you’ll know where it came from.
The crackers and Bath & Bodyworks hand sanitiser that clips onto your handbag were also a cute touch. Does anyone else remember when they were all the rage!? I never got my hands on one then so I am loving this!
I already own a couple of Stila Stay All Day liquid lipsticks and think the formula is amazing; as the name suggests, they are extremely long wearing. The Lips Are Sealed Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick Duo contains the shades Bella and Beso which are both new to me, and who doesn’t love makeup in miniature form!? So cute!
Now THIS is what got me really excited! I have never seen a negative review about Makeup Geek eyeshadows, and although I’ve wanted to try them ever since they launched, I’m hopeless at shopping online for makeup and choosing shades. I either want everything as I can’t decide on one to two things like a normal person (and end up with hundreds of pounds worth of items in my basket) or I buy nothing. – So of course I still have around £200 worth of shadows sitting in my Beauty Bay basket!
Parie knows me so well, the shades she picked out; Showtime, Bitten, Cinderella and Americano are exactly what I would have chosen if I’d seen them in a shop. I am obsessed with showtime, it’s literally all I’ve worn since I received it, and have had so many compliments on my eyeshadow.. I definitely need more of the MUG foiled shadows. Browns, bronze and neutrals all day, everyday!
Phew! Well this is some haul isn’t it!? Can you see why it took me an hour to open everything up??
There’s so much stuff here for me to play around with, it’s pretty amazing, right?!
Thanks again to the fabulous Parie for choosing me the most amazing gifts. If you fancy a nosey at what I bought for her, you can check out her post here. I should warn you though that she has put me to shame with her gifts.. I honestly think she might be one of Santa’s elves!
If you fancy stalking Parie too, you can find her here:
Before I go and warm up a mince pie, I wanted to wish you all a very Merry Christmas!
This is probably my last post of 2016, and so I want to say a huge thank you to every one of you who has ever read my blog, watched my videos and for every single comment, double-tap, tweet, thumbs up and all the rest! I appreciate every single one and I feel extremely lucky to have such lovely readers and viewers.
Whatever holiday you celebrate, have a great one tomorrow. Make sure you’re wearing something elasticated and listen to at least twelve cheesy Christmas tunes because, well – it’s CHRISTMAS!
