Good makeup starts with good skincare.

Whether you want to embrace the Clean Skin trend or want a flawless ‘no makeup – makeup’ look, we all know that skincare is the vital step that can’t be skipped in the quest for a natural glow.

I’d heard many great things about Decléor from my aunt as it’s all she has used in over 30 years due to her sensitive skin and love of natural products. She only wears makeup for special occasions and her skin is to die for – it’s completely flawless, and so I’m sure you can imagine how thrilled I was when this generous box of tricks landed at my door.

Aurabsolu Instant Glow Hydrogel Mask

I must admit that I’m not a sheet mask convert as I find that most don’t really do anything for my skin other than adding a boost of hydration – and some don’t even do that! Because of this, I was quite sceptical about trying this mask but I can honestly say that it is literally the best sheet mask I have ever used, and I am obsessed.

The mask itself comes in two halves which makes application a lot easier, and it also means that you can adjust it to fit the shape and size of your face better. You can have a closer look at the mask and my first impressions in this vlog (skip to 8 minutes). I instantly loved the feeling of it as it isn’t slimy to touch, felt so luxurious and didn’t slide off my face in the half an hour I left it on for.

It claims to restore luminosity and fight signs of stress and fatigue; which it did, while instantly soothing my skin. It brought my skin back to life; it looked incredibly radiant and glowy for a couple of days after using it  – I need more of these in my stash for when my skin is feeling stressed or showing signs of tiredness.

Decleor Hydra Floral Moisturising Fluid SPF30

I featured this Hydra Floral Moisturising Fluid in my June Favourites post (here) and I am still really enjoying using it.

The lightweight formula leaves my skin hydrated and feeling soft and the bonus of the SPF 30 makes this a great all year round product – particularly for this time of year. It also contains hyaluronic acid which is always welcomed as it is known to plump fine lines. What is there not to love!?

Aurabsolu Intense Glow For Eyes

This eye cream has a lovely instant brightening effect, targeting dullness and dark circles. Sadly, I don’t think any product will completely eradicate dark circles as there are a number of contributing factors that cause dark circles in the first place. However, the formula of this makes a great base for concealer application. It feels super hydrating (which is perfect for my dry under eye area) and cooling on the skin.

I adore eye creams in a squeezy tube as I hate sticking my fingers into pots, and the applicator on the end of this helps the product glide on effortlessly, making it a breeze to use. It’s the perfect pick-me-up in the mornings – after a strong coffee, of course! Priorities.

Aromessence Neroli Amara Hydrating Oil Serum

This gorgeous oil based serum is probably the most hydrating one I have ever used. It instantly nourishes and brightens the skin and as with anything that contains neroli, it smells divine.

The non greasy and shine free formula makes it perfect to use during the day, both alone or under makeup, and it also makes for a heavenly overnight treatment. Priced at £45 for 15ml of product, I do think this is quite pricey and considering the bottle doesn’t come with a dropper, it’s so easy to pour too much out of it which is a shame. Having said that, it is 100% natural, packed with high grade essential oils and is currently on sale for 25% off here. When I pour too much oil out, I try and save some of the excess on a clean palette and mix it with my powder highlighter for an intense glow.

The best way of using it is to warm up 2-3 drops on your fingers and press it on to your face and neck using your fingertips, finishing with light sweeping strokes. It’s perfect for dehydrated skin and if high end, opulent skincare is your thing, then this one is for you!

Decléor Micellar Oil

I am still on the fence about this Micellar Oil; it claims to be a revolutionary cleanser that uses a mix of both oil and water to remove and cleanse the skin at the same time which is a great concept.

All you need is 2-3 pumps of oil, massaged into dry skin, which starts the process of breaking makeup down. You can then add a couple of drops of water to emulsify the oil; turning it into a milky consistency, which cleanses and soothes the skin. To remove, I either use a damp face towel or muslin cloth as I would with any other cleanser.

Though it does leave my skin feeling soft, nourished, smooth and clean, I don’t find it to be that effective for removing makeup. I prefer to remove any stubborn waterproof eye and brow makeup first before going in with this micellar oil. On days where I have a full face of makeup on, I will go in with another (heavy duty) cleanser to give my skin a second/third cleanse, so this once can feel like an unnecessary step.

It is however one of Decleor’s ‘hero products’ ( meaning it’s a best seller) so maybe it’s just me that isn’t blown away by it. If you fancy trying it out yourself, it’s on sale for £19.50 here.

I can completely see why my aunt has been a loyal Decléor customer for so many years – I’ve noticed a huge improvement in my skin by using this handful of products and my skin has thanked me for it. I’ve had no breakouts (aside from the regular hormonal ones), any texture I had prior to using these has vanished and I feel a lot more confident going make-up free in public now.

I adore the message behind Decleor’s ‘Be A Barefaced Beauty’ campaign as I think it’s so important in today’s era of social media and beauty lovers that we embrace our bare face and natural beauty more often. From the luxurious essential oils to the beautiful formula and instagrammable packaging, these products are ideal for doing just that.
