A face lift in a jar?
Before I tell you all about this luxury mask, can we just take a moment to appreciate the adorable packaging please? This stunning silver apple has a magnetic ‘stalk’ which is actually a cute little spatula used to scoop the product out of the jar – genius!
I’m slightly ashamed to admit that I didn’t know much about this brand before I had the chance to try this product out, but if, like me, you’ve also been living under a rock, then check this out. Many of the Heaven Skincare aficionados include celebrities such as Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Hudson, Victoria and David Beckham, Nicole Kidman, Kylie and Danii Minogue and the Duchess of Cambridge! That’s right, it’s reported that Kate Middleton regularly gets Deborah Mitchell facials and even had one days before the royal wedding!
I mean, if it’s fit for royalty, I had to try it out for myself and see if it’s worth the hype.
What makes this mask unique?
Don’t worry, I’m not going to get all ‘sciencey’ but the ingredients in the mask are pretty special; Organic Coconut Oil, Honey Extract, Apple Extract, Glycolic Acid, Raw Cane Sugar and the star of the show; Deborah’s own patented formula Abeetoxin®. This is a complex formulation of bee venom, honey and botulism; so it’s essentially a natural form of the toxin used in Botox that can be harvested from beehives.
Just think of this as a non invasive Botox treatment as theAbeetoxin® fools the skin into thinking it has been lightly stung, causing blood to flow towards the skin and stimulate the production of collagen and elastin.
The mask can be used all over the face as a peel treatment, just on areas of a specific concern or on any dry parts on the body such as hands, elbows and feet. However, it’s recommended that if you use it on delicate parts like the eye area, not to use more than 3 times a week.
I wrote about my favourite mask two years ago and it’s still the one I always go back to time and time again, but like that one, this is also a resurfacing mask that I completely underestimated! I can only describe this bee peel as an enzyme mask on steroids!
The first time I used it on my face, my skin was startled – you can really feel the stinging sensation and I’d highly recommend following the instructions and only leaving it on for two minutes max (one minute if you have sensitive skin). It does feel slightly uncomfortable, so you probably will want to remove it as quick as possible. Don’t make the same mistake I did and use it too close to your lips. I must have accidentally gone over my lip line and it took me a couple of weeks and countless lip balms to heal my chapped lips and get rid of that sore feeling. It wasn’t pleasant!
Having had a bad reaction to a new SPF I was trialling a couple of months ago, my skin broke out like crazy and as somebody who’s always had pretty clear skin, this was terrifying. As soon as I stopped using that product, the breakouts started shrinking and eventually disappeared, however I was still left with the evidence that they were there. I’ve tried countless products to get rid of the marks, but nothing truly worked until I started using this Bee Peel.
This fabulous product really does what it claims to do; re-surface the skin, minimise the appearance of pigmentation, lines, scars, dullness, enlarged pores and blemishes and boost collagen for radiant, younger looking complexion.
Everything about this brand screams luxury, and the price tag reflects that. Priced at £109 for 50ml of product, it’s certainly on the higher end, but when you consider that a 30 minute peel salon treatment starts from £60 per session, this is a bargain in comparison!
I know they say ‘an apple a day keeps the doctor away’ but I’m convinced an apple of this kind keeps signs of ageing away, and let’s be honest, that’s what I’m all about!
I’m so impressed. What else do I need to try from Heaven Skincare?
